The We're Not Afraid site is a wonderful collection of photographs, based in England and containing photos from all over the world. It's a message to terrorists that the human spirit is still very much intact. This site is well worth a visit.
I sent this one to the site, taken about a year and a half ago.

A friend just sent this link to the BBC NEWS commending this website.

Ah, you can't beat British spirit!
The tragedy of Diana Spencer's (Princess of Wales) death is made more poignant in the knowledge that she was about to marry Dodi El Fayed and become a Muslim. The future King of England would then have had a Muslim mother and the country may possibly have made more effort to understand and integrate the Islamic faith into its fabric.
There again, any faith that has as one of its core commandments, Thou Shalt Not Kill Unless Justice Demands It (George W Bush's motto?) I find very suspect.
I remember walking through Stamford Hill in London a few years ago and seeing a coach full of Hassidic Jews with the slogan Love Thy Fellow Jew emblazoned on the side. I was suddenly struck by the revolutionary quality of Jesus's generalization of that to Love Thy Fellow Man. It must have required a huge heart and mind to make that leap, especially in an occupied country. I guess we are now at the stage that the statement needs to be extended even further to include the whole ecology of the planet.
Thank you both for commenting. I never knew that about Diana and yes, what a difference it would've made. It is high time we think universally, rather than by race, creed or country. But will it happen?
Pris- you need to fix "afraid" in the picture. You are such a darling lady!
Proud of you-

Well that covers both bases lol
I was born not so far from London and remember it fairly well...mainly from crammedintobuses school trips. Poor London. It is more cosmopolitan than in my day and that is one good reason for peace!! What does it matter the colour/race/creed we are? We are human beings after all. B xx
