Richard Zola 17 June 1949-22 Oct 2005

His an approximate return still ranks as one of my favorite poems.

Godspeed, Richard. We didn't end so well as friends, but we started that way.

Pris

Ellen Johns brought my attention to the fact that Issue 14 of Blackmail Press was dedicated to Richard. Read this page for more of his poems and links to his poems in previous issues. Well worth your time.

An excellent poem Pris. I saw Richard's name on issue 14 of Blackmail Press. The issue was dedicated to him.
I love the first poem selected there, I think it's called "Seduction 21". What a mind.

I didn't see that issue of Blackmail Press. Will take a look now. Thanks!

Hi Michael
Welcome back from the holidays. Years back, I wrote a poem and dedicated it to Richard when we were posting together and still friends. He gave me permission to post the above poem as a response poem on my site with mine. My poem was originally titled 'Richard's Song' but I changed it to 'Poet's Song'. Not sure if it's now in my archives or on my main collaboration page.

Richard was such a unique talent. I'm sure he'll be remembered by anyone who chanced across his lovely work.

There had been talk for some time of putting his poetry together into a book, but I heard from Billy Stoneking, his main mentor and he's swamped doing screenplay work in Australia and I don't know of anybody else who would have the motivation to get something like this done except perhaps the other poet we both know.

I may be wrong, but it was my impression that it was his wife who was organizing that, as, of course, it should be.

I agree. I'll write you. Google can get in everywhere these days.

It would be a great project to assemble all his works in a book.
Perhaps his wife will do this one day.

I've not heard or seen anything posted anywhere, but I don't go to many boards, anyway. Hope she does, too.
