Best News Photos of 2005: Chosen by National Geographic

I don't know how many of you are photo lovers, but I found the choices of photos for the year fascinating. Their cover online page kicked off with the photo of the remains of this whale in an Egyptian desert, a desert that just happend to be named ten thousand years ago 'Valley of the Whales', yet this whale dates back to the millions. When I first read about this discovery, it inspired a poem. I'm including the links to the rest of the photos HERE. They're well worth a look, especially with the short commentary below them. Not only are they interesting photos, they're instructive, as well.

Enjoy! I did.

Love the fly with the glasses, the two headed turtle, brown dwarf inbetween star and planet, and the rest were pretty cool too!! Have really been enjoying Duke Lang's site along with his friends!! Great stuff!!

Aren't those great shots. Duke will be leaving Monday for a month for a visit and then recording in Norway so I'm gonna miss his song rotations and his posts. He's a fine blogger, too!

Does he have any CD's that can be bought?

He does, but I don't know where. I haven't checked Amazon yet since he just sent me some as a gift, thanking me for featuring him. It wasn't necessary for him to do that, but it's the kind of person he is. I'll message him on MySpace. Not sure how much more he'll be on before he leaves for a month.

I'll get an answer back when I get one on this.
