Thanks, Michael
I guess when you spend over five years with someone they don't disappear, as much as you'd like him or her to. This was the man I lived in the commune with, then traveled the East Coast with on my 22 foot sailboat. The photo is taken inside the sailboat on one of our vacations to Maine, before that trip.

Cramped quarters! Maybe it's like throwing out an anchor, trying to slow the ride down.

I love this, Pris. One picture (or a few lines) can bring things back so fresh.

Hi Pat
Yes sometimes you wish that. The boat was cramped, but you spent most of your time in the cockpit either at the tiller or navigating and enjoying. In a sense, the whole outdoors is your home. Inside was just for cooking and sleeping.

That picture has haunted me all day. I never thought that doing the haiga would bring back those days so vividly, but it did. It'll pass, but...

:) I think THIS is why my mother was so afraid I would run off and join a commune and paint flowers on my cheeks....

Your mother was probably right :-)
