Best Movie Dances

These are three dances in movies that continue to stand out in my memory. I could watch them over and over. I'm not trying to include the oldies with Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire...another whole group of wonderful dances in those, too. What's your favorite??

The Scent of a Woman (tugs at heartstrings)

The Sound of Music (most romantic)

Shall We Dance (sexiest)

A few that come to mind for me:

Neve Campbell in The Company, dancing (with another dancer) to the tune "My Funny Valentine" played on a solo cello; the scene was filmed in Grant Park in Chicago, with a steady rain falling on the stage during the dance.

Several of the dance sequences in the movie The Turning Point (with Shirley MacLaine, Ann Bancroft, Leslie Browne, and Mikhail Baryshnikov).

The dance of Anthony Edwards and Angelica Huston at the end of the movie Mr. North, to the Cole Porter song "You Do Something to Me."

Word verification is "ultima."

I saw The Turning Point so long ago I can't remember much, so put all three on my netflicks list. Thanks.

This post reminded me of my first (and only) dance with husband at some wedding..I'm not a dancer and I kept stepping on his toes...
Thanks for sharing the videos - nice reminders.

I would add the great Sally Potter's entire film, "The Tango Lesson." One of the greatest "dance" movies ever.

I really loved the dance scene in Dirty Dancing when Baby jumps up and Patrick Swayze picks Baby up over his head in the last scene of the movie! ::singing to myself - I...had the time of my life...and I never felt this way before::

Hi Anna...bet that was some dance!

Collin, I've had that one my Netflix list for eons and it remains in 'save'. How did you see it?

Esk..wasn't that a great dance moment? I loved that, too.
