Just Another Roadside Attraction

There's too much on this site to go through in one shot, but a peek inside is well worth the time. Go to roadside photographs to find photos of the 'older America' that's managed to cling on by way of attractions, signs, and other things proving that the fast food chain places haven't yet run us over!

Here are three shots from the site. Click to enlarge. Thank goodness everything doesn't like a clone of something else...yet!

I love seeing places like these survive!

Some neat photos. One of the things I like about the community where I live is the relative absence of generic chains. Nothing like a few large-scale franchises to kill that local feeling...

I'm back to blogging again, by the way. I'm sure you'll enjoy the kittenwars link in my latest post, if not the poem...

Apropos to this post, search my blog for a post called The Blandification of the World...

Best,

Brian

Hi Brian
Even the hometown I grew up in fell pray to the fast food places and finally every home cooking place in town has closed down, I hear from a friend who still lives there. It's just a shame.

Glad to hear you're blogging again and will look for that post. Whenever I'd checked off and on in the last period of time I hadn't seen anything new, so hadn't looked in a while.

gotta love the nativity scene by the bar and grill. I can see Klinger eating a Hungarian hotdog nearby.
