Richard Zola 17 June 1949-22 Oct 2005

His an approximate return still ranks as one of my favorite poems.

Godspeed, Richard. We didn't end so well as friends, but we started that way.

Ellen Johns brought my attention to the fact that Issue 14 of Blackmail Press was dedicated to Richard. Read this page for more of his poems and links to his poems in previous issues. Well worth your time.

Hi Michael
Welcome back from the holidays. Years back, I wrote a poem and dedicated it to Richard when we were posting together and still friends. He gave me permission to post the above poem as a response poem on my site with mine. My poem was originally titled 'Richard's Song' but I changed it to 'Poet's Song'. Not sure if it's now in my archives or on my main collaboration page.

There had been talk for some time of putting his poetry together into a book, but I heard from Billy Stoneking, his main mentor and he's swamped doing screenplay work in Australia and I don't know of anybody else who would have the motivation to get something like this done except perhaps the other poet we both know.

I agree. I'll write you. Google can get in everywhere these days.

I've not heard or seen anything posted anywhere, but I don't go to many boards, anyway. Hope she does, too.
