My college archives

I recently discovered that Stetson, where I attended undergraduate school, has been building and maintaining an archive of annuals, school papers, memorabilia, and photos, going back to the early 1900's. I sent some photos from when I attended. They were especially interested in the dorm life photos, so I'm sharing a few here. It was fun scanning and looking back at these old shots taken with my brownie.

This is me outside my dorm senior year

Taken during the Early Admissions Program. We have our dorm adviser locked into her room.

Toilet papering the person and room when engaged! I'm to the right.

A surprise birthday party. It was a black bra, but I'm not posting THAT photo:-)

Hatter Holiday. Contest for Mr. and Miss Stetson. Look at those gowns and gloves!

Love these photos...mine however remind me of a lot of bad hair days and styles, and the clothes to match!

High maint. for sure.
Big contrast with Pris's subsequent
"Peggy Lipton / Klute" phase. ;-)
A few years was a big difference
then.

The tone on that Brownie film
is awesome.

I love these photos. They look like they could be scenes from one of those college hijinks movies from the 1940's and 1950's.

The upside-down umbrella in the second photo is just perfect, a priceless detail.

Cher E, my were bed glasses AND bad hair days lol.

Jim, I didn't post one when I started the early admissions program. Oh my gosh, I look like a baby with pointy glasses. The change by my junior year was already a big one and then by grad school, two years into it, I was beginning to look more like the Klute phase. Yes, a few years made big difference.

I put the photos into my graphics program and used the 'fade correct' tool. The photos were dimmer with less contrast before I did that, but I still got some pretty clear ones.

Hi Lyle, those college hijinks movies weren't so far off. We thought the umbrella was the perfect touch, too lol. We were still 16 and 17 year old kids in that photo, having a lark, and luckily the dorm adviser had a good time along with us.
